Integration of third-party services and content
Third-party content such as YouTube videos, Google Maps content, RDD feeds and graphics from other web pages may be displayed on this Website. This is only possible if content providers (hereinafter referred to as “Third-Party Providers”) register users’ IP addresses; without these IP addresses, content cannot be sent to the browser of the user in question. IP addresses are therefore required in order for such content to be displayed. We endeavor to only use the content of providers who use IP addresses for the sole purpose of sending content. However, we have no influence on Third Party Providers saving IP addresses for statistical purposes etc. We will inform users on such matters if they become known to us.
Cookies are small files which store specific information related to the device on the user’s device (e.g. PC or smartphone). In addition to making web pages user friendly (e.g. by saving login details), they allow statistical information about web page use to be collected and analyzed in order to improve the Website. Users may determine how cookies are used. Most browsers can be set to restrict, or completely disable, cookies from being stored. Users are warned, however, that disabling cookies will limit the function and user friendliness of a website.
Many online advertizing cookies from companies may be managed via the American website http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU website http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/

However, by activating IP anonymization on this web page, user IP addresses will be shortened by Google before this happens, provided you are in a European Union member state or another state that has entered into the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Full IP addresses will only be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there in exceptional cases. IP anonymization is used on this Website. On behalf of the Website operator, Google will use the information it gathers to evaluate website use, compile reports on website activities and provide other services to the Website operator relating to website activity and internet usage.
The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of the Google Analytics process will not be merged with other Google data. Users can prevent cookies from being stored by selecting the appropriate settings on their browser. However, this Website warns users that by doing so, they may not be able to use all the Website’s functions. Furthermore, to prevent Google from collecting and processing the data generated by the cookie relating to website use (including IP address), users can download and install the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en .
Use of Facebook Social Plugins
This Website uses social plugins (“Plugins”) from social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The Plugins can be recognized by the Facebook logo (white “f” on a blue tile or a thumbs up sign) or are labeled with “Facebook Social Plugin”. The list and appearance of Facebook social plugins can be seen here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/ .
If a user opens a web page of this Website containing one of these plugins, his/her browser will connect directly to the Facebook servers. Facebook will directly transmit Plugin content to the user’s browser, where it is then embedded into the web page. The Supplier therefore has no influence on the extent of the data collected by Facebook via this Plugin, and informs users of its current state of knowledge:
Embedding the Plugin allows Facebook to receive information that a user has visited the Website page in question. If the user is logged into Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to his/her Facebook account. When users interact with the Plugins, e.g. by clicking on the Like button or posting a comment, their browser directly transmits this information to Facebook, where it is saved. Facebook may also learn of and save the IP address of users who are not members of Facebook. Facebook states that in Germany, only anonymous IP addresses are saved.
The purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of data by Facebook, including all associated rights and settings for protecting user privacy, may be found in Facebook’s Data Use Policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/ .
Users who are Facebook members and do not want Facebook to collect data about them via this Website or merge these data with their saved Facebook member data must log out of their Facebook accounts before visiting the Website.
Facebook social plugins may be blocked by installing add-ons for your browser using the Facebook Blocker, for example.
+1 button by Google+
This Website uses the +1 button of social network Google Plus, which is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”). The button can be recognized by the +1 sign on a white or color background.
If a user opens a web page of this Website containing one of these buttons, his/her browser will connect directly to the Google servers. Google will directly transmit +1 button content to the user’s browser, where it is then embedded into the web page. The Supplier therefore has no influence on the extent of data collected by Google via this button. Google states that it does not collect the personal data of users that do not click on the button. It only collects and processes such data, including the IP address, of members who are logged in.
The information generated by cookies and web beacons concerning website use (including the user’s IP address) and the delivery of advertizing formats will be transferred to and stored on a Google server in the USA. Google may pass on this information to its contracting parties. However, Google will not merge your IP address with any other of your saved data.
Users may prevent cookies from being installed by selecting the appropriate settings on their browser. However, the Supplier warns users that by doing so, they may not be able to use all of this Website’s functions. By using this Website, users consent to Google processing any data collected about them in the manner and for the purposes set out above.
Withdrawal, modifications, corrections and updates
Users have the right to request information about any personal data collected about them free of charge. Provided that there is no legal obligation to preserve the data, users are also entitled to have their personal data deleted, or to have incorrect data corrected or blocked.
Concerning marketing and optimization purposes, products and services of Burda Direct Services will be used.
